The island of Holbox or simply Holbox is located north of Cancun, and although it does not belong to the Riviera Maya, its magic and beauty stand out and excursions from Riviera Maya do not make visitors wait. His pride is the whale shark, the largest and most noble fish on the planet, this island being his favorite home.
Its main attractions are Yalahau Lagoon, Pájaros Island, Passion Island and Cabo Catoche. Yalahau Lagoon is a cenote, it is not located on the island, it is 30 minutes away from it. Located on a small Island, for years it served as the main source of water for Holbox.
The Islands of Birds and Isla Pasión are small islets, one inhabited by endemic birds. Passion Island is itself a small island famous for lovers who are going to visit it in search of peace and love.
The crossroads between the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico gave rise to biodiversity in Holbox. Dolphins, flamingos, turtles, pelicans, iguanas, crabs and even crocodiles are some of their hosts.
