Cozumel is an island formed by limestone from the coral reefs that surround it. It is one of the favorite places for divers worldwide because of its fantastic marine biodiversity and the clarity of its waters.

Along with the beaches, the exploration of coral reefs and sighting of marine life is the main attraction of Cozumel, which is mostly surrounded by coral reefs.

Visitors who venture into its waters can observe sponges, molluscs, algae, turtles, sharks, seahorses, rays and hundreds of species of tropical fish.
One of the favorite places to dive is Chankanaab Park, which is located within the Cozumel National Marine Park.

The natural beauty of Cozumel is not its only charm, since there are more than 10 archeological sites on the island that preserve the remains of Mesoamerican culture.

The ruins of San Gervasio constitute the most important archaeological zone, which preserves the remains of a sanctuary to the moon goddess and fertility, Ixchel.

On the other hand, in Punta Sur, at the southern end of the island, there is a striking Mayan structure with a dome covered with snails.
